Matthew has over 10 years’ experience of designing and delivering research and insight for clients from across public sector, private sector, domestic and international charitable organisations, using both qualitative and quantitative techniques. Matthew is particularly experienced in stakeholder and reputation research, public opinion research, and policy and program evaluation. He has worked with clients including DECC, Defra, the Home Office, health authorities, Unilever, Plan UK International, the RNLI, Innovate UK, the Energy Saving Trust, Energy UK, HMRC, the Behavioural Insights Team, Environment Agency and many others.
Matthew has considerable experience in using deliberative techniques to understand public perceptions of complex issues such as urban system innovation and integration, energy futures, climate change mitigation and adaptation. Matthew is extremely experienced in environmental, sustainability, and energy research - before joining Britain Thinks, Matthew jointly led the Energy and Environment research team in Ipsos MORI’s Social Research Institute.
