Julia is a strategic communications specialist with 12 years’ experience working in politics and the charity sector. Most recently she was political adviser to the Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions during the 2015 election, and prior to this was Head of Media at Shelter, where she led the charity’s campaign to make the lack of affordable housing a top political issue. Julia has also worked at Age UK and has agency experience advising a number of charity clients including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Carers UK and the Youth Sport Trust.
Since joining BritainThinks, Julia has worked with a number of third sector clients, including Oxfam, Joseph Rowntree Foundation, National Council for Voluntary Organisations, Asthma UK and Shelter. Julia has a BSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics and a Market Research Society Certificate in Market and Social Research.
