Public attitudes to waste, recycling and producer responsibility | A report for SUEZ

With waste and recycling rising up the political agenda, SUEZ commissioned us to understand more about the public's attitudes and behaviours when it comes to waste and recycling.
In particular, we focused on attitudes to the concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). EPR is the term for a system which makes producers and products and packaging responsible for the materials they sell after they have been thrown away by the consumer. It therefore requires producers to come up with a solution for the sustainable disposal of products at the end of their lives.
We conducted 4 full-day deliberative workshops in August and September 2018, followed by a national representative poll. You can find the full report from the research below:
