"Deborah Mattinson's "BritainThinks" polling finds cuts and unemployment are no longer about "others" but about "people like us" too. Among those who describe themselves as working class, two-thirds say they struggle to make their money last to the end of the month and couldn't replace a big household item if one broke. They feel how the rise in fuel, childcare and food prices has hit their falling incomes. Over 70% now fear their children may never find jobs."
